. . McLeod, Mills or Wallace (safety). 8. player. 54.

At safety, Malcolm Jenkins will be missed, but the re-signing of Rodney McLeod will be one of those offseason moves we all look back on as one of Philly’s more thought-out moves. He’s a lock for the starting free safety position, and he had a nice bounceback year after being injured in 2018, but who’s his partner? Who’s the strong safety?

Is it Jalen Mills or the rookie K’Von Wallace? It seems that Philly might be in pretty good shape either way. Wallace will prove to be one of the steals of this draft and should eventually take over as a starter. Had he been a tad faster, he would have been drafted higher. Currently, Jalen Mills is still listed as a cornerback on Philly’s roster. Keep an eye on that.

It would appear that, with the decision to allow Jenkins to walk and the concerns about MIlls’ speed and the complications he’s experienced as a cover corner, “The Green Goblin” is the logical choice to move into the other starting safety role, but that opens the discussion about who starts opposite of Darius Slay.

As mentioned earlier, don’t be surprised if you see Mills doing a little double-duty.
