After setting rookie franchise records for rushing yards and all-purpose yards, what will Eagles running back Miles Sanders do for an encore in 2020?

It’s called the sophomore jinx. The second attempt at something pales in comparison to what we saw in the first stanza. For Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders, things couldn’t have gone much better than they did in Year 1.

One of these days, many of us will share stories of what the “Birds” used to look like with our grandchildren, and we’ll learn that you can’t tell the story of possibly two different eras of Eagles football without mentioning DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy. One has solidified himself as one of the greatest deep threats in the history of the NFL. The other just happens to be Philadelphia’s all-time leader in rushing yards.

In 16 games a season ago, Sanders found a way to throw his name into the same sentence in a couple of conversations about both of those Eagles legends. Sanders passed “Shady” in the record books for the most rushing yards by a rookie. He passed “D-Jax” in the record books after tallying the most all-purpose yards by an Eagles rookie.

What will “26” do for an encore? We won’t know until it happens, but here are a couple of reasonable expectations.
