As days go by, it begins to look more and more like Elijah Holyfield is going to make this team. There’s been talk of maybe signing a Carlos Hyde, but it’s going to be hard to get him or anyone else in for a workout with a global health crisis going on.
Plus, outside of Hyde, the pickings are slim as just about every running back left is coming off of injury or just unproven. Don’t ignore Mr. Holyfield folks. He’s spent a lot of time on the roster, and the coaches seem to like him.
After going undrafted in 2019, T.J. Edwards made the Eagles roster and started in four regular-season games. He now has 30 tackles on his resume, including 15 of the solo variety. People call him slow but don’t be surprised if you look up in September and this is Philadelphia’s starting middle linebacker.
Sure, this is Boston Scott‘s third season if we’re being technical, but who cares? Do you even remember anything that he did in 2018? Scott is going to have to do a lot to top the way he finished the 2019-2020 season, but with more time to prepare and the knowledge that he’s all but assured of a roster spot, that shouldn’t be too difficult of a task.
Did he look good because Philly played some weak teams down the stretch, or is he the real deal? That’s the question everyone will be asking when the season kicks off.
