5 Philadelphia Eagles who seemingly have zero chance at a roster spot
Four solid options at defensive tackle might mean doom for Huggins.
Though some of Philly’s roster battles are in the air, others are a little more clear. The Eagles’ puzzle at defensive tackle was solved when the team finally said goodbye to Timmy Jernigan for good and added Javon Hargrave in his place during the free-agency frenzy this past March, and that probably means Albert Huggins has no shot to make the squad.
Hargrave now joins a rotation the includes Hassan Ridgeway, who re-signed with the Eagles on March 24th, Malik Jackson, and one of the game’s best at the position, Fletcher Cox. The Eagles’ defensive tackle position will be one of the most formidable in the entire league once things get going in 2020.
It would seem that the “Birds” are going to walk into 2020 with four defensive tackles on the final 53-man roster, but let’s just say that they go with five. It’s probably wise to assume that Anthony Rush and Bruce Hector would be in competition for that spot. Both are probably higher on the depth chart than Huggins is.
