Do NFL experts see Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz as elite?

Of the top 100 players that Prisco named, ten quarterbacks made the list. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. It’s arguably the most recognizable position in all of the professional sports. Patrick Mahomes tops the entire ranking as the best player in the NFL as you’d assume he might. Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, and Aaron Rodgers all made the top ten.

Every other signal-caller fell like so. Drew Brees made the top 15 at number 11. He’s followed by Tom Brady (19th), Dak Prescott (46th), Deshaun Watson (62nd), Matt Ryan (70th), and Kirk Cousins (86th).

As stated, you could argue that Wentz never winning a playoff game is some of the reason for that, but wouldn’t that also disqualify Lamar Jackson? Yes, eventually, Wentz has to win in the postseason, but even with that being said, can’t the argument be made that he’s, without question, better than Kirk Cousins and Matt Ryan?

Sure, Cousins beat Brees recently in the playoffs, but he isn’t better than Brees or Wentz. By the way, has anyone noticed the Brees has only won four playoff games since the New Orleans Saints won it all to conclude the 2009-2010 season? That may be another story for another day, but it’s definitely something worth considering.
