. Marcus Peters, CB. . player. 26. .

Peters would give the Eagles a Pro-Bowl tandem at cornerback.

At some point the Eagles have to figure this out. Every offseason, it seems like we’re always talking about cornerback being one of those must-fix areas. Seemingly, every offseason, they sign someone. 17 games are played (or more if there’s a postseason). March rolls around and the cycle repeats itself.

Outside of adding Darius Slay, this Eagles cornerback grouping doesn’t look much different than it did in 2019 other than Ronald Darby being gone (thank goodness) and one of their best options being rumored to be someone Philly might stick in the backend at strong safety.

Eagles fans were spoiled by Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor and again by Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown. With Slay on one side, the question for a while has been who will start on the opposite side of the defensive formation.

If they had someone of Marcus Peters‘ stature, fans could lie down at night knowing that Philadelphia has, perhaps, the most gifted duo of cover corners in the game. Sure, this one’s a longshot, but who knows, right? Okay, maybe not, but it’s nice to dream.
