Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz, share some love at a time where it’s needed most.

As we prepare to turn the calendar from May to June, our great country is again at an impasse. It’s hard to look at social media because it’s overrun with hate, but it’s good to see that, at a time where injustice has led to anger, two members of the Philadelphia Eagles family, quarterback Carson Wentz and tight end Zach Ertz, are doing their part to spread a little love while the world around them deals with the emotions of hurt, confusion, and anger.

The truth is we often complain that sports figures should distance themselves from political and world issues and complain that they should stay away from controversial topics. Then, often in the same breath, we admonish them for not doing more to use their platform when they don’t speak up as the atrocities we all have opinions on are overtaking the world around them.

The only way to defeat evil is by doing something good. The only way to conquer hate is by telling someone you love them and on May 28th, right around dinnertime on the East Coast, love is what Ertz and Wentz decided to share, take a look.

Zach Ertz and Carson Wentz make it easy to cheer for the Eagles.

Sometimes, stars can be unbearable to watch or be around. Zach Ertz and Carson Wentz are cut from a different cloth. They feel like friends. They aren’t just easy to cheer for because they’re Eagles. They’re easy to cheer for because they’re genuinely good people whose actions are constant reminders that they aren’t attempting to pull the wool over our eyes and present themselves as something that they aren’t.

They’ve decided to remind everyone that in a world where hate does exist, the cure might just be showing everyone that love does too. Perhaps that’s how we all move on and heal from everything that’s wrong with the world around us. It couldn’t hurt to try it as it appears that contributing more hate hasn’t gotten us anywhere.
