One last ride for a Philadelphia Eagles legend?

Often, we discuss the importance of Philly needing to nail draft selections because they’ve missed on so many. To be frank, the reason we keep exploring the possibility of bringing guys like Jason Peters, Vinny Curry, DeSean Jackson, and LeSean McCoy back is that guys like Shareef Miller, Mack Hollins, Shelton Gibson, and Donnel Pumphrey aren’t working out.

There’s no market for Vinny Curry outside of Philadelphia, but even during this offseason, there were questions about whether or not the Eagles would bring him back. Eagles fans have seen that Josh Sweat may have some potential to be a nice contributor to Philadelphia’s defense, but this team’s starting duo is, without question, Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett. That also speaks to the original point.

This team had a ton of expectations for Barnett. That’s why Michael Bennett and Chris Long were allowed to leave, but there’s a problem. We keep discussing a breakout year that never seems to come. As a result, the Jadeveon Clowney and Yannick Ngakoue rumors continue, and much of the hope for an outside pass rush is heaped on the 32-year-old shoulders of Brandon Graham.

He continues to answer the call. He’ll need to do the same again in 2020. The decline has to come at some point, but hopefully, “55” has a few more years left in him, even if 2020 might be his final season in Philly.
