51. . . . Los Angeles Rams. 4. team

What Philadelphia Eagles fans thought might be the start of a rivalry between two young signal-callers has never really gotten going.

Rumor has it that, had the Eagles had the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, they still would have taken Carson Wentz over Jared Goff. That’s how much they believed in “11”, but whenever there are two signal-callers that get this type of burn and are both taken highly in any selection meeting, the comparisons are frequent and expected.

Both Wentz and Goff were supposed to usher in a new era of NFL football and, in the process, maybe develop some sort of friendly rivalry of their own. These two were supposed to lock horns in the playoffs for years to come, but so far, we’ve seen them share the field once. That was Week 14 of the 2017 season in a shootout that’s most commonly remembered as the day Wentz went down and Nick Foles stepped in.

The “Birds” met the Jared-Goff led Rams again in Week 15 of 2018’s season. This time with Nick Foles as the starter. That resulted in a much-needed and surprise win by the “Birds” on Sunday Night Football. Part three of the Goff versus Eagles narrative takes place in Week 2 of the 2020 season on September 20th.

This time, Carson Wentz should be present and healthy. We’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out as some people are now of the theory that the league has caught up with what used to be seen as the offensive genius of Rams head coach Sean McVay.
