Dare we say that Carson Wentz deserved MVP consideration in 2019?

Believe it or not, it’s already Year 5 of the Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz era. What’s even tougher to believe is this. After watching the Philadelphia Eagles‘ star quarterback build his legacy over the past five seasons, it’s still hard to get everyone on the same page about how we should feel about what he brings to this Eagles squad.

Some say that he’s a legend in the making, and his best years are ahead of him. Others believe 2017 was a mirage, that Carson Wentz was never that good. They believe the best has already come and gone. Others still believe that “11” should be traded, sooner rather than later, because you’re never going to get more for Wentz than you would get for him right now.

Here’s what’s difficult to explain about Philly’s star signal-caller. Every one of those arguments makes sense. You may not agree with most of them, but you can make an argument for each of those points. While we’re at it, let’s add two more topics to the discussion. Will Wentz ever win the NFL’s MVP trophy? Could he have won it last season? The answer to that first question is yes. The answer to that second one won’t come as easily. Let’s see what we can figure out anyway, shall we?
