3 Reasons Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz was MVP-worthy in 2019
If everyone keeps leaving the Philadelphia Eagles’ star signal-caller out of most “valuable” player discussions, the name of the award needs to change.
Maybe your argument is the stats someone produces are the best examples of what someone’s value is. That would be a very good point, but with the MVP Trophy and all of these awards that we hold in high esteem, it has to be more than that.
It’s inexcusable that Brandon Graham has never made a Pro Bowl. There’s no way that Sean McVay was a better coach in 2017 than Doug Pederson was, especially when Pederson led his team to a number one-seed without the benefit of having his starting quarterback for the last month of the season. Some of you might even agree that Brian Flores was worthy of being named the NFL’s Coach of the Year in 2019. All of that is up for debate.
No one’s saying that Lamar Jackson didn’t deserve the MVP trophy in 2019. He absolutely did, but Wentz should have been in the conversation. The fact that he wasn’t is ridiculous. The fact that Russell Wilson was also ignored is truly strange. Come on people. What are we doing?
