54. . . . DeSean Jackson. 2. player

One more run for this Philadelphia Eagles legend?

Is anyone else noticing a pattern here? Another wide receiver? Truthfully, we all probably wish that this wasn’t the hand we all were dealt as fans. On, the other hand, this should serve as further notice of what Carson Wentz had to overcome in 2019 (it’s amazing that some of you are still bashing this guy). Either way, you can’t talk about potential bounce-back candidates and not bring up “10”.

The excitement of knowing that DeSean Jackson would return to Philadelphia was replaced by the near-fever pitch the Eagles fanbase felt when he hauled in two 50-yard bombs from Wentz in Week 1. Then, he limped off of the field in Week 2 versus the Atlanta Falcons after ten offensive snaps.

He wouldn’t return until Week 9 when Philly faced the Chicago Bears. He’d be on the field for four plays and catch one pass for five yards before, well, limping off of the playing field again. This time it would end his season.

Should he have had that surgery earlier? Probably so. Did he? No, he didn’t. There’s no use in crying over spilled milk that was picked up, placed back on the table, and spilled again though.

Next year it all comes together. Next year, Eagles fans get the DeSean Jackson we thought we’d see in 2019 (hopefully). The hurt feelings are gone. “10” will be on the field in Week 1, and maybe we’ll see that Wentz-to-Jackson connection all season. There isn’t an Eagles fan alive that isn’t cheering for this guy.
