Here’s a look at the Philadelphia Eagles’ best tweets from Father’s  Day.

Much like every other holiday, Father’s Day touches every emotion. That’s true for the Philadelphia Eagles, all of their fans, and people who don’t even watch NFL football. Every June, we celebrate men whose stories range from inspiring to tear-jerkers.

You see everyone doesn’t know the joy of this responsibility. There are the forgotten men on this day, men who have endured an unfortunate loss. We don’t often speak of the men who are attempting to join this fraternity or the men who have lost their fathers, but Father’s Day is about them too.

We, at times, ignore the men who have stepped into a role, the “stepfathers”, men who heroically chose to bear a responsibility that wasn’t theirs. Father’s Day belongs to them too. It doesn’t always get the attention that Mother’s Day does, but ask anyone. It’s a day that no father, whether he be biological or a stepfather, takes for granted.

Here are some of the best tweets from Father’s Day, beginning with one from the Eagles official account.

There are also the guys who will always be Eagles regardless of what color jersey they are wearing. The Nick Foles versus Carson Wentz debate is one that still goes on in the Eagles fan base, but that’s never placed a damper on the friendship that these two share with one another.

Both have represented the Eagles organization well. Both are great, and both had new additions to join their families. The Foles family welcomed a beautiful son, Duke Nathan Foles. The current star Eagles signal-caller can’t stop smiling after the birth of Hadley Jayne Wentz.

Take a look at a couple of shots from a couple of good men. Foles already has some experience with fatherhood. This is a new experience for QB1, but both are great guys who shouldn’t fill the role nicely.

Yes, Mr. Wentz seems to be settling into fatherhood nicely. Guys like DeSean Jackson, the man who Eagles fans hope is on the receiving end of several touchdown passes from Wentz’s right arm, has been holding it down for his family for quite some time.

You see, men have a connection, whether we acknowledge that or not. We have responsibilities, whether we accept those or not. It’s the decision to take them on that truly make us great men, but it’s days like Father’s Day that make us stop for a second and think on every third Sunday of our great country’s sixth month.

Father’s Day is about tipping our caps to the men who have accepted the responsibility and carry the mantle to the best of their ability, but maybe we should spend more time picking up the guys who are hurting too. There are men who yearn to join the fraternity that is fatherhood. There are those who have suffered the loss of their own or the loss of children, but that day belongs to them too. We at ITI salute fathers everywhere, the ones who know its joy firsthand and the ones who can’t wait to see it for themselves.
