Philadelphia Eagles fans may want to temper their excitement on a few guys.

The word “expectation” can make or break a potential NFL star. Guys we expect little from are often given a little wiggle room. Anything the team gets from them is seen as a bonus. Look no further than Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward.

The on-again and off-again scout team guy finally got his shot in the mighty NFL and made it pay off. The highlight of a surprise season came when he made catch after catch on a game-clinching drive in Washington, including the game-winner.

The other side of the coin lies with the guys who carry the hopes of a starving franchise on their back. They’re analyzed. Some would say they’re overanalyzed. That’s Carson Wentz. By now, you’ve probably learned that nothing short of a Super Bowl win is going to give this guy the validation that he deserves.

That brings us to the rest of the roster. They’re neither stars nor benchwarmers. They too have expectations and their share of doubters, but a breakout season could help their team immensely. Philly has its share of question marks on the roster, but if you are a “Birds” fan, there are a few guys you may want to temper your excitement on, lest you might be disappointed. Here are four of the obvious guys who fall into that “boom or bust” category on Philly’s roster.
