Philadelphia Eagles: An argument for Adrian Killins making their roster
By Hunter Doyle
Here’s something for those Philadelphia Eagles fans that love stats and research.
What Killins did at UCF during each of his four seasons was remarkable, but everyone will want to know how that compares to other playmakers. Let’s take a look at some of the impressive feats Killins achieved over the course of his collegiate career.
During his 51 career games at UCF, he put up 3,323 yards from scrimmage on 477 total touches. He was also almost always healthy during his career. He’s fourth in UCF history with 34 total touchdowns, giving some reason to mention him in the same breath as Latavius Murray of the New Orleans Saints. Killins is fourth all-time in the program’s history with 4,348 all-purpose yards.
He lost just one fumble during his entire career. That’s absurd. To add on, he had a touchdown in 28 of the 51 games he played in, an average of a little over one touchdown every two games. In his last two seasons (25 games), he had at least one play where he exceeded 20 yards in 16 games. He also racked up over 80 all-purpose yards in 27 of his 51 career games.
This guy did everything he could to help his team win. To top all of that off, in every season, he had at least one touchdown of at least 70 yards or more. That’s next-level speed. His numbers at UCF are mind-boggling. If any of that translates to the NFL level, watch out. Killins didn’t get an NFL Scouting Combine invitation, so you know that there’s definitely a chip on his shoulder. Philly may have found a diamond in the rough.
