51. . . . Los Angeles Rams. 2. team

Don’t be surprised if the Philadelphia Eagles begin the 2020 season with a 2-0 record.

Philadelphia hasn’t lost to the Rams since 2004, and despite the fact that L.A. has had some success in two of the past three seasons, the Eagles will come into 2020 with the better team. L.A. also has continuity at the head coaching and quarterback position, so they have a chance to be one of those teams that rise above the pack this season due to a stable system, but they’re also playing in one of the toughest divisions in all of pro football.

Come Week 2, the Rams will be coming off a tough Week 1 matchup with Dallas, but seeing as how L.A. was embarrassed in 2019 at “Jerry World”, fans can expect a better effort from Sean McVay and company in Mike McCarthy’s debut.

This Rams-Eagles game could be a matchup of two opening-day winners. The Eagles haven’t won a Week 2 game since 2016, but Pederson has outcoached and beaten McVay in both of their meetings. Look for “Dougie P” to come and prove once and for all that he’s the better of the two head coaches.

This one will come down to quarterback play. Jared Goff is pretty stationary, and Jim Schwartz usually game plans pretty well for pocket passers. Both teams have veteran defenses, so expect this to be a low-scoring game where one signal-caller makes one more big throw than the other to lead his team to victory. A 2-0 start for the “Birds” is realistic, but will be difficult to earn.
