. Kyle Lauletta. 5. player. 54. .

He may not make the Philadelphia Eagles active roster, but

Okay, don’t laugh about this one. Hear us out. Granted, if the regular season is underway and we’re talking about Kyle Lauletta being on the field, something has gone wrong. His spot on the roster is secure through camp because every team is required to carry four quarterbacks, but the long and the short of everything is this. The ceiling for him might be the practice squad as the “Birds” are set with Wentz, Sudfeld, and Hurts.

Lauletta’s been with the Eagles since 2019 as Philly said goodbye to their fifth-round selection of that same year’s NFL Draft, Clayton Thorson. That decision was made before the regular season even kicked off. Thorson wound up with one of Philly’s age-old rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, as the “Birds” got Lauletta from another, the New York Giants.

To be frank, if anything happens to any of the Eagles’ signal-callers, Lauletta might be the next man up, even though he’s never completed an NFL pass and he’s thrown an interception on a mere five career attempts. You have to think he’s learned something being with this team for so long though. Besides, how do we know that he isn’t better than Nate Sudfeld?
