. . Jacoby Brissett. 3. player. 54.

Keep in mind the fact that a lot of what the Colts want to do mirrors what the Philadelphia Eagles did with Wentz.

At six-foot-four and 238 pounds, Jacoby Brissett has proven over and over again that he’s a winner. Now, the record doesn’t show you that (he’s 12-20 as an NFL starter), but the game film shows, without question, that the skillset for a starting quarterback is there.

Then, there’s this. Brissett spent the 2016 season with the New England Patriots where he studied under Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels before moseying over to the Indianapolis Colts and the offensive genius of Frank Reich. That’s where he’s been ever since.

Two seasons in Frank Reich’s offensive scheme has given us the best evidence of what Brissett is. He’s a young guy who’s raw and needs coaching.

In 2019, he started 15 games and posted a near-.500 record at 7-8, but, as you know, the Colts had some issues despite winning some big games (a road game versus the Tennessee Titans and a prime time game versus the Kansas City Chiefs). Brissett didn’t light it up in that one, but he did just enough.

Keep an eye on him. Normally productive yet always expendable, Brissett could be trade bait now that Philip Rivers is wearing a blue and white jersey, and with stability like the Eagles have, he could be one of the game’s young signal-callers.
