Now would be a good time for the Philadelphia Eagles to raid the Chiefs.

If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, it’s easy to look at what’s going on with Dak Prescott in Dallas or to look at Patrick Mahomes‘ new ten-year contract extension and think about how wise Philly was to lock Wentz up with his four-year, $128 million contract extension sooner rather than later. Perhaps, it’s easy for an organization to believe that they have the negotiating power when their star signal-caller still has a lot to prove, he gets injured a lot and has never won a playoff game.

Wentz’s deal includes $107 million in guaranteed money and keeps him under contract through the 2024 season. That’s nothing to sneeze at. That kind of pocket change makes it easy to knock out a few light bills, but as impressive as it is, it’s not hard to look at Mahomes’ ten-year deal and not get swept up in the words “$503 million”.

Sure, much of that money includes potential bonuses. There’s also the question of how impossible it is to determine whether or not he’ll be in the fold until 2031, but there’s something else to consider. How is Kansas City going to pay anyone else now that Mahomes commands such a large number?

We see it all the time in the NFL. Success means the other 31 teams want to steal your players and coaches, and if we’re being honest, there’s no better place to shop for talent than with the champs. Mahomes deal means that there are several Chiefs who could be available down the road. Might some of them be Eagles? It isn’t impossible. Here are three current Chiefs that would look really nice in a midnight green jersey.
