The Philadelphia Eagles got Nickell Robey-Coleman at a massive discount.

For the average NFL star walking into a “prove-it season”, the $1.35 million that Nickell Robey-Coleman is set to earn would be a nice payday. For Philly’s new starting slot corner, that isn’t quite the case.

On a roster that makes its home in “Tinseltown”, it only makes sense that their teams be loaded with stars, and the Los Angeles Rams certainly aren’t lacking in star power. They have one of the game’s most recognizable quarterbacks, even if he isn’t one of the most talented (Jared Goff).

When you mention Robey-Coleman among a group of guys that include two of the game’s best players on defense (Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald) and a few all-stars on offense like Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, you can see how Philly’s new corner might get overlooked. He’s more than the guy who committed pass interference and didn’t get called for it though.

Nickell Robey-Coleman immediately upgrades the Eagles secondary, but he’s again on a team with a lot of star power. His signing was overshadowed by the addition of Javon Hargrave, Darius Slay, Jalen Hurts, and Jalen Reagor, but trust us on this one. Philly’s getting for a lot less than he’s worth. Expect to hear his name a lot for the right reasons in 2020.
