. . . Week 15 of 2018: L.A. Rams. . player. 54

The Philadelphia Eagles pull off the “Hollywood Heist” in 2018.

None of you will ever admit to this now, but let’s be honest. You didn’t think Philly was going to walk into L.A. and win this game.

The Eagles were taking the field in Week 15 of the 2018 regular season with a 6-7 win-loss total after they had just dropped one in overtime to the rival Dallas Cowboys. That game gave us the lasting memories of that one will be Dallas Goedert having a long touchdown catch and run called back for a phantom pass interference call, the Cowboys being awarded a fumble recovery while Jourdan Lewis stood there with the ball and a deflected pass by Rasul Douglas carried into the hands of Amari Cooper for a walk-off touchdown.

Then, there was that other thing. That was also Carson Wentz‘s final game of 2018 as we learned that he had literally been playing with a broken back. The script here in Week 15 was familiar.

Backup quarterback Nick Foles stepped up for the second time in Tinseltown, this time as the starter, and the underdog Eagles whooped up on a favored Los Angeles Rams team by a score of 30-23 in a game that was never as close as the final score indicates. This one launched a three-game winning streak by the Eagles to close a campaign that lifted the “Birds” into the playoffs for the second-consecutive season.
