54. . . . Quez Watkins. 2. player

Are there any other Philadelphia Eagles fans who are talking about Quez Watkins more often than they were about a week ago?

Depth charts are often less about talent and often about the numbers game. Come on, Greg Ward wasn’t getting cut, re-signed to the practice squad, and promoted and cut because he couldn’t play (you’ve heard the story several times). Greg Ward just had the unfortunate circumstance of knowing six guys were going to make this Eagles team at his position, and if we’re being honest, every offseason, Philly just always had six guys who were better.

Jeffery and Goodwin’s absence means the guys we were similarly saying Philly had no room on the 2020 active roster for seemingly have a shot now.

Quez Watkins isn’t a sure thing by any means. Deontay Burnett and Robert Davis didn’t come to camp to become sacrificial lambs, but the fact that Watkins is one of the three wide receivers the Eagles drafted and the fact that everyone knows he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds makes him very intriguing. Don’t look now, but he may be in line for more than a spot on the practice squad. Quez Watkins could make the 53-man roster.
