player. 54. . . . Special Teams (3).

Jake Elliott, Cam Johnston, Rick Lovato have been the Philadelphia Eagles’ specialists for a while. This one’s no surprise.

Last, but certainly not least, are the guys who don’t get enough credit, the specialists.

Jake Elliott has his mistakes but when it matters most, he’s always reliable. The man is clutch. He’s missed just 14 field goals and seven extra points in his three seasons. He hadn’t missed a kick last year up until the game versus the Buffalo Bills where the wind was swirling.

Cam Johnston is a top-ten punter in the league. He finished eighth in the NFL last year with 46.4 yards per punt. He also dropped 28 of his punts inside the 20-yard line which was five away from being in the top five.

Rick Lovato rounds out one of the best special teams trios in the league. The long snapper position often seems insignificant but if they mess up, even on one snap, everyone will notice. It can also shift a game’s momentum. Lovato, however, has been perfect. There is never anything close to poor snap from him even in rain and snow. Let’s hope it stays that way.
