. player. 54. . . . Defensive End (6)

Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Vinny Curry, Josh Sweat, Genard Avery, Shareef Miller are the best Philadelphia Eagles on the edge.

No one should be surprised by these six guys making the roster. Brandon Graham is consistent and is one of the leaders in this team’s locker room. Derek Barnett will have to prove he can play like the first-round pick that he is, but he’s still a lock to at least be the starter on opening day.

Josh Sweat is coming off a solid sophomore year in which he showed he can be the third defensive end in the rotation. Vinny Curry is also an above-average rotational man with experience.

Genard Avery didn’t see the field much with the Cleveland Browns or with the Eagles last year. He had a solid rookie season a few years ago, but the Browns switched defensive coordinators. Avery was out but has landed on his feet in Jim Schwartz’s scheme. Staying in the same defense this upcoming year should benefit him. Expect him to rotate in more often.

Shareef Miller needs to earn some playing time. If he doesn’t, then that’s a wasted fourth-round selection. He’ll play more of a role in the run game if he gets on the field.
