Patrick Surtain and Paulson Adebo are monsters, but are their additions to the Philadelphia Eagles roster realistic options?

It’s going to be hard to throw on ‘Bama in 2020. On one side of the defensive formation sits Josh Jobe. He’s a gamer and would probably be the best corner on just about every other program’s roster. On Alabama’s roster, even a top-ten player at his position can find a teammate who’s just slightly better.

Patrick Surtain is the other half of this immensely talented duo, and over the course of 28 career games at the NCAA level, he’s added 79 tackles, 15 pass breakups, and three interceptions to his resume. He, Shaun Wade, and this next guy are the three best cornerbacks in 2021’s draft class.

Paulson Adebo might have been one of the most recognized and sought after cornerbacks had he entered the draft a season ago, but he decided to return to the Stanford Cardinal to enjoy another year of college life and the comradery of his teammates.

What’s sad is the Pac-12 canceled the coming season, and rather than being forced to sit out of football, Adebo could have been playing at the professional level in 2020. He’ll be one of the most sought after cover guys in 2021’s draft. Might he be an Eagle? They already have several former Cardinal standouts on the roster (Zach Ertz, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Nate Herbig, and Casey Toohill). Might those guys lobby for Philly to add a fifth?
