Here are two Philadelphia Eagles to watch following the Josh Perkins news.

If you haven’t learned anything about these Philadelphia Eagles yet, here’s what 2019 should have taught you. Carson Wentz can play. Doug Pederson can coach. This team gets hurt a lot, and the season absolutely and positively can’t end because of an injury.

That sounds about right, doesn’t it? Now, that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s get down to business.

On what ‘Birds’ fans affectionately refer to as ‘WentzDay’, Day 9 of Eagles camp began with a 9:15 A.M. EST press conference (Zoom style of course) with the head coach. Then, sometime between the conclusion of that discussion and the first snap of practice, which was scheduled for 10:30 A.M. EST, the Eagles organization shook up the roster a little.

As was the fear when we learned of tight end Josh Perkins’ injury at the start of camp, theories were he could wind up on the team’s IR (injured reserve) at some point before the season began. On August 26th, those fears were confirmed. Now, while he could return at some point after the midpoint of the regular-season campaign, that isn’t a guarantee.

Philly has also signed cornerback Trevor Williams and defensive tackle T.Y. McGill in corresponding moves, and they’ve waived linebacker discussion. We’ve got some work to do. Here’s what all of this means for the tight end position. Two young prospects all of a sudden have a lot to gain.
