5 Philadelphia Eagles most impacted by all of these injuries
A familiar face to Philadelphia Eagles fans might be in an unfamiliar position come Week 1.
As a staff, we at ITI all raise our right hands. We promise not to make any unjust or critical comments of Jason Peters and this selfish decision that he’s made, at least for the duration of this story.
We also solemnly swear not to criticize the Eagles organization for creating a monster (Peters), feeding it, and now, being unable to handle their own creation. We won’t attack Doug Pederson for telling us that having his best left tackle play right guard and having his best available right guard play left tackle is creating continuity for the offensive line.
We also swear not to make any off the cuff remarks regarding Peters undermining the Eagles head coach’s authority; however, in spite of all of that, what we won’t do is make the promise that when Carson Wentz is peeing himself off of the turf after a bludgeoning by Montez Sweat, Ryan Kerrigan, Chase Young, and others, we’ll refrain from saying that we told you so.
Matt Pryor has tons of talent, but the left tackle position clearly isn’t his natural. If he fails come Week 1, the responsibility won’t be on his own. Wentz’s blood will be on the hands of Peters, Doug Pederson, and an Eagles organization that has coddled Peters, especially now after every one of the other 31 NFL teams proved that they don’t want him. ‘The Bodyguard’ is dead wrong for this one.
