Washington has plenty of talent but so does the Philadelphia Eagles.

That was quick! Training camp came and went, and we are now a couple of days away from Sunday’s games. The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Washington Football team at FedExField in their very first game of the regular season, but you already know that, don’t you?

This is a familiar script as Washington was Philly’s first test in both 2019 and in 2017. One of the differences is, this year, the game is in D.C. and not in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’. A year ago, the Eagles beat Washington 32-27 and wide receiver DeSean Jackson hauled in eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

Philly surely hopes they can end their first away game of the season with a win, but it won’t be easy as this Washington team looks very different than they did at the beginning of the 2019 season. Jay Gruden and Case Keenum are gone. This go-around Philly gets former Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera and the man they gave the keys to later in the 2019 season, former first-round quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin should be better in his second year as a pro, and rookie running back Antonio Gibson will be the go-to guy in Washington’s ground game.

Washington’s defensive line got even better than it was last season after drafting Ohio State superstar Chase Young. Stopping him will be key for the Eagles, but the good news is Philly has plenty of talented players of their own on both sides of the ball to help ensure victory. Here are ten. If they perform well, Philly will win its first game of the season.
