It wasn’t perfect, but if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you’re smiling.

Well, that was atrocious. After jumping out to a 17-0 lead versus a Washington Football Team that was both out of sorts and, frankly, confused, Ron Rivera’s team put up 27 unanswered points to hand the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season.

If only life had a reset button like those old Nintendo games. So much for Washington bringing in that new coaching staff and having zero preseason games huh?

If you’re an Eagles fan, you expect an implosion in the regular season, a game Philly loses without any real explanation as to why that happens. There was a loss in Tennessee in 2018. There was that home loss to the Detroit Lions a season ago. This one came in Week 1, but this one also feels different.

One has to ask what in the world this team is going to do to correct what we saw in the second half of this one. Washington held this Eagles team scoreless in the final two quarters and Philly seemed to regress with each second-half drive. This one hurts., and it will sting for a while. They’ll return home for a 1 p.m. EST home opener versus the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday. In the meantime, here are four reactions following a heartbreaking and shocking loss.
