54. . . . Week 4 of 2018 versus Tennessee. 4. player

The Philadelphia Eagles lose in overtime to the Titans.

Only Doug Pederson’s Eagles could have dropped this one. There were times in this game where Philly made Marcus Mariota look like Steve McNair.

Mariota completed 30 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 46 yards on ten carries, scoring another T.D. with his legs, as Tennessee outscored the ‘Birds’ by a 16-6 margin in the second half to force overtime.

In the extra stanza, Philly won the toss, took the ball, and tacked on a field goal, but Mariota did the ‘Birds’ one better. He led the Titans down the field and stuck the second of his two touchdown passes in the end zone. This one went to Corey Davis. Game over. Turn the lights out thanks for playing.

The Lions hand the Philadelphia Eagles a good old-fashioned rea-end whooping.

What can anyone say about this game other than bad things? There was that kick return by Jamal Agnew, the Miles Sanders fumble, Nelson Agholor‘s fumble (one where no one touched him), Dallas Goedert‘s drop in the end zone, and JJ Arcega-Whiteside‘s drop on a final desperation heave by QB1 that still, in spite of everything that happened that day, might have won Philly the game.

Regardless of what happens from now on, this will always be one of the most agonizing losses of  Doug Pederson’s tenure as Eagles head coach.
