An injury-riddled Philadelphia Eagles O-line gets Aaron Donald in Week 2.

We all saw it, although it’s safe to assume that many wish we hadn’t. The new-look Washington Football Team dominated the Philadelphia Eagles‘ battered up offensive line, and that went a long way in helping to decide the game’s outcome. Carson Wentz was sacked eight times and as good as the Washington defensive line is, that’s inexcusable for a professional football team. The good news is that the Eagles may get Lane Johnson back for their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

He’s stated that he’s playing. Unfortunately. at the time of this story being published, there hasn’t been a team report that agrees. The bad news is this. The Rams feature one of the best defensive players in the entire NFL in Aaron Donald.

L.A.’s two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is a man who needs no introduction. The six-time Pro Bowler showed no signs of rust as he recorded a sack and four additional quarterback hits against the Cowboys in Week 1. He disrupted the Cowboys’ offense, and while the Eagles were rooting for him last week, they face the challenge of containing him seven days later.

In the past, Aaron Donald has struggled against the Eagles with zero sacks in three meetings. The difference between then and now, however, is that the Eagles weren’t going into the previous games with this level of inexperience along the offensive line.

Sure, you could double team him, but that doesn’t even work all of the time. So what now? Here are two ideas. Hopefully, they help Wentz stay vertical in Week 2.
