3 Philadelphia Eagles wrinkles that can cure those Carson Wentz concerns
By Hunter Doyle
So, should Philadelphia Eagles fans stress over Carson Wentz or not?
Week 1 couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start for Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. It also couldn’t have ended any worse. Everything was clicking on both offense and defense. You all know how it ended. The offensive line’s effort and the play-calling by Doug Pederson were huge concerns after Sunday’s loss.
Let’s address the elephant in the room though. Carson Wentz’s performance down the stretch was the big story of the day. Many fans are pushing the panic button early and hopping onto the Jalen Hurts’ train. No, seriously. That’s actually happening. Others feel that there’s no need for overreaction. Others sit on the fence.
Regardless of which side you are on, there’s truth to both sides. Wentz had his fair share of mistakes, which can’t happen at this point in his career. At the same time, there were plays where Doug didn’t put him in the best position to succeed.
The staff here at ITI had some time to rewatch the film from the game and break down what went wrong for Wentz and the ‘Birds’. Week 1’s game didn’t encourage anyone, but should we believe that this is foreshadowing or something along the lines of a rusty start? It may be too early to tell, but if the ‘Birds’ can make QB1 comfortable, we could be treated to the Carson Wentz that we saw in 2017. Here’s how they do it.
