Philadelphia Eagles versus Los Angeles: 5 Key matchups to watch
This is why the Philadelphia Eagles brought Darius Slay to town.
We’ve mentioned Goff, Tyler Higbee, Josh Reynolds, Robert Woods, Cam Akers, and Van Jefferson on offense. Who are we missing? Hmm. Oh yes, there’s that Cooper Kupp guy. Injury cut his 2018 season short, but he’s bounced back in a major way, exceeding 1,100 yards receiving and catching ten touchdown passes in 2019.
How he was left off of the Pro Bowl roster a season ago is anyone’s guess. Maybe it’s because the Rams didn’t win enough, but he does have a Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team nod on his resume.
‘Kupp duty’ will probably be the primary responsibility of Eagles star cornerback Darius Slay. Sure, we were teased with the theory that ’24’ might be used in several different ways, but come on. If Philly didn’t bring him here to lock up the other team’s best wide receiver, then what on Planet Earth is he doing here and why is he making so much money?
Slay is off to a great start in 2020, locking up Terry Mclaurin for most of the afternoon in Week 1, but whether or not L.A. gets the win will be largely determined by what Goff, Kupp, and their offensive teammates are able to do. Slay’s efforts could go a long way in neutralizing that.
