Philadelphia Eagles say goodbye to 2020 undrafted free agent
Philadelphia Eagles fans are being introduced to a new team each week.
Sometimes, it feels like this season will be done before you know it. Here we are, feeling like everything has just gotten started. Then again, following Week 4’s Sunday Night Football game on NBC, one that pits a struggling Philadelphia Eagles team against a San Francisco 49ers squad that just throttled the New York Giants with a bunch of backups, the first month of Eagles football will be in the books.
The expectation by many is Philly will be 0-3-1 after that game. Still, even with that being said, nobody thinks that the Eagles aren’t going to show up. It’s just that, when they do, the roster won’t look anything like we thought it would look like several weeks ago. Changes have to be made from the active roster thanks to injuries, and now, as we all thought they might, the effects of that are trickling down to the practice squad.
The Philadelphia Eagles have said goodbye to a UDFA, for now at least.
As you might imagine, Philly shuffled the deck again on the Tuesday following that now-infamous tie in Week 3. Most of the work here was done to the scout team. According to an official team statement, they’ve parted ways with tight end Jordan Franks and one of 2020’s undrafted free agents, running back Michael Warren. In corresponding moves, they’ve added tight end Jason Croom and cornerback Michael Jacquet to the practice squad.
Warren caught the attention of a lot of Eagles fans and the Philly media when he was added post-draft, but he seemingly hasn’t done enough to inflame the passions of Duce Staley and Philly’s other offensive coaches or leapfrog fellow undrafted rookie Adrian Killins. Warren is without an NFL home, for now, but if you’re a ‘Birds’ fan, you’ve seen this before. Don’t be shocked if Philadelphia does more shuffling and he’s back in a week or two following another injury.
