10 Philadelphia Eagles that will play key roles in winning at Pittsburgh
Good things happen when the Philadelphia Eagles give Miles Sanders the ball.
Second-year running back Miles Sanders is an essential part of the Eagles offense. Some argue that he should be handed the ball more often. You can’t overwork him though. He’s too valuable.
While Sanders tallied 13 carries for 46 yards against the 49ers, he has 51 carries for 236 yards and a touchdown for the year. He’s also averaging 4.6 yards per rush. The ‘Birds’ need to find the right balance and get him more involved against the Steelers.
When fans demand elite play from Carson Wentz, they do it because ’11’ has shown he can perform at a high level. When they see him struggle, they scream that he doesn’t play up to his potential. Again, we’ve seen him win with pressure upfront and despite the fact that he has an inexperienced wide receiver corps. That being said, it’s obvious that he’s capable of playing like an elite quarterback.
Wentz has thrown seven interceptions on the season after throwing only seven interceptions in each of the last three seasons. At his current pace, he’ll finish the 2020 season with 28. That can’t happen. Wentz must take care of the ball, especially versus the Steelers. The Eagles will be better for it and will have better chances to win moving forward.
