There’s more Philadelphia Eagles carnage after a spirited Week 6 loss
The injuries were rampant as the Philadelphia Eagles lose again in Week 6.
If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you’re probably asking yourself one very serious question, and this is it. Now, what are we going to do? In an ugly game that turned out to be a spirited comeback attempt, one that resulted in a two-point loss to a team that most expected to compete for a Super Bowl berth, the Baltimore Ravens, the usual and expected carnage continued.
K’Von Wallace, Jack Driscoll, Malik Jackson, Miles Sanders, Zach Ertz, and Jalen Mills all limped off of the field at some point. Add their names to a list of almost 18 other ‘Birds’. Just look at some of the names that are on this list:
Okay, take a deep breath. We’ve got Andre Dillard, Brandon Brooks, Jalen Reagor, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Dallas Goedert, Jason Peters, Isaac Seumalo, Matt Pryor, Lane Johnson, Avonte Maddox, TJ Edwards, Rudy Ford, Duke Riley, Marcus Epps, Daeshon Hall, Josh Perkins, and Trevor Williams.
Sheesh. Did anybody get left off of that roll call?
No, seriously. What do the Philadelphia Eagles do now?
Okay, we know that Will Parks was activated from the team’s injured reserve less than 24 hours before the kickoff of this one. It’s impossible to determine how ready he is to contribute regularly, but the fact that K’Von Wallace is starting could be a sign.
Brett Toth came in to play right tackle after Driscoll limped off. Jason Croom scored a touchdown in relief of Ertz. Fortunately, despite the loss of Malik Jackson, this is a very nice rotation of defensive tackles. Philly still has Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave to rely on, and Hassan Ridgeway could start for a few other NFL teams.
Still, to make long stories short, injuries happen in professional football, but what’s happening in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ is ridiculous. It would be nice if this team could get some of their key guys back by the time Thursday Night Football kicks off.
