47. . . . Cam Newton, Pats (Wait, seriously?). 3. player

Even a die-hard Carson Wentz fan can still see why this is interesting.

Before we go any further, let’s make one thing distinctly clear. No one on this staff wants to see Cam Newton in an Eagles jersey. Most of the Eagles fan base would have a problem with that as well, but when it comes to building an NFL team, every option must be thought about and investigated. No stone should be left unturned.

Newton signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, but based on the way the Pats do business, who’s to say that relationship lasts? Cam’s existence in Foxborough might be simply one where Bill Belichick and company are looking to bridge the Tom Brady era to the next chapter of Patriots football. Maybe Cam is just a temporary fix.

That means that Newton could be looking for a new home as soon as the 2021 offseason. If he’s back on the market, whether you like him or not, he’ll be one of the biggest fish in the free agency pool. The Dallas Cowboys will franchise Dak Prescott again, and if Philly looks outside of the organization, Philip Rivers, Jacoby Brissett, Mitch Trubisky, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Tyrod Taylor aren’t enough to make the mouth water.
