The Philadelphia Eagles really need these next three games. No, seriously.

The injuries to Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz could have not come at a worse time for the Philadelphia Eagles as they prepare to play three straight games versus NFC East competition. We’re talking two games versus the New York Giants and one versus the Dallas Cowboys.

We all hear the jokes about the NFC East and how bad it is, and yes, knowing that a team with a 2-4 record is leading the division isn’t going to change anyone’s mind on that front. It would be colossal if the struggling Eagles, who can still win this division, do well and put some distance between themselves and their rivals during their upcoming three-game stretch.

Before we dig into why these next three games for the ‘Birds’ are so crucial, can we just take a moment to back off of Carson Wentz ( looking at you, Max Kellerman)? Wentz has put this team on his back (again), and he’s done the best that he can do while surrounded by practice squad guys. Not to mention, the offensive line has shuffled every week as the guys Wentz thought he’d rely on haven’t been available.

You already know these next three games are huge. What you may not know is why. Here are two reasons why they matter so much.
