The Philadelphia Eagles are finally favored in an NFL game.

The Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants in the first game of the NFL’s Week 7 slate. Over the course of the last two weeks, Philly has put together a couple of heroic performances against better teams but has fallen short in games versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, but it was encouraging to see what this team could do with all the chips stacked against them. In the end, they put up an average of 28.5 points against two of the best defenses in the league.

Though moral victories are nice, history will remember that the Eagles lost both of those games. The ‘G men’ are 1-5 on the season but have been competitive. Philly can’t afford to overlook a division rival or play down to their level as that has been a problem for this team in the past. Does anyone remember the Miami Dolphins game?

Following a Dallas Cowboys Week 6 loss on Monday Night Football, the NFC East is still wide open for the taking (it’s like déjà vu), making this game even that much more important for the Eagles to win. Philadelphia will be fielding a lot of reserves thanks to injuries, but the Giants aren’t the picture of health either.

Like the ‘Iggles,’ the Giants will be without some of their star players this weekend and have even more in question as this Thursday night matchup approaches. Philly is favored and should be (put the emphasis on ‘should be’), but the Giants won’t go down without a fight. Here are the top five questions surrounding another primetime tilt versus ‘Big Blue’.
