It wasn’t perfect or pretty, but the Philadelphia Eagles earned another win.

With 6:17 to play in the Thursday night rivalry game, the New York Giants stole all the momentum with a Sterling Shepard touchdown reception to place the Philadelphia Eagles in a 21-10 hole. The ‘Birds’ dug themselves out of the grave though and captured their second victory of the season.

The Eagles were up. Then, they were down. The Giants were up, then they were down. It was a matchup that personified the NFC East race to perfection. In the end, Carson Wentz engineered his tenth career game-winning drive to put the Philadelphia Eagles back into first place in the lowly NFC East.

At some points, the Eagles looked to be in control. At other times, the Giants seized every ounce of momentum. It was a roller-coaster game that boiled down to crunch time execution.

Evan Engram failed to execute. The explosive tight end dropped a wide-open, possible game-clinching catch as he left safety Will Parks in his dust. In the end, the Giants’ drop proved crucial as Wentz and the gang traveled 71 yards on 6 plays in just 1:22 to seal the win.

Any victory feels good, but stuffed within this game are some underlying stories. Let’s get freaky.
