Philadelphia Eagles discussion board: What if Sean McDermott never left?

Here are a few scenarios to mull over if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Though no one can say definitively what may have happened had McDermott stayed, it’s always fun to guess. Here are three possible scenarios.

Again, our staff is either full of die-hard fans or we all just think too much when we have a little extra time. Okay, let’s have some fun.

1. McDermott never gets the Buffalo job.

There’s really no reason that we believe this to be true other than the fact that, even though Andy’s defensive assistants can eventually ascend to the head coaching ranks (Todd Bowles, Ron Rivera, Sean McDermott, Steve Spagnuolo), most were never elevated directly to any team’s top chair from their positions in the Eagles organization.

Jim Johnson never got serious consideration either, so with that being said, the belief is this. McDermott eventually works his way up the ladder in Philly, but he has to sit behind ‘you know who first’.
