The Philadelphia Eagles are favored for the second week in a row.

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing to host arguably their most denounced rival in Week 8’s Sunday night matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys. The rivalry between these two franchises and fan bases stretches over several decades. Due to a lack of talent in the NFC East, especially in recent years, these two teams have battled back and forth for the division lead, making the hostility between the two rivals immense.

This Sunday’s matchup will be the 123rd time that these two proud franchises have played one another, with Dallas leading the all-time tally by a 73-49 mark. The Eagles will look to put another checkmark in the win column this week and put some distance between themselves and the rest of the division. The ‘Birds’ are anywhere from eight to nine-point favorites according to The Action Network, making this one of their more favorable matchups since the season opener versus the Washington Football Team.

Outside of securing a lead in the NFC East, the ‘Iggles’ have a chance to do something they have yet to do all year, win back to back games. With Dallas traveling for the second week in a row, dealing with locker room controversy, and coming off two consecutive losses, the chance for a lopsided victory is within the Eagles’ grasp.

After a few extra days off, the ‘Birds’ are looking to get some starters back before they face their division rival but will still be playing a lot of reserves at key positions. ‘America’s Team’ has suffered almost as many injuries and will be without many key players as well. Let’s look at how these two teams stack up against one another for this Week 8 matchup.
