Don’t forget about the Philadelphia Eagles punter.

Like Cre’Von LeBlanc, Cameron Johnston makes this list for the second straight year. He’s statistically one of the best punters in the league in 2020 thus far.

To start, Johnston tied for the eighth-longest punt with a boot of 66 yards. For punts inside the 20-yard line, Cam is seventh in the league with 12. In average yards per punt, he ranks second with a 50.4-yard average, and in net average yards per punt, he is fourth with a 44.3-yard average.

Something that won’t be recorded in the box score is the hangtime Johnston gets and the pinpoint accuracy with directional kicking.

As long as Johnston continues doing what he’s doing, this team will be in good shape. Rudy Ford and the punt team do a phenomenal job getting downfield to stop big plays. They’ve allowed just 6.6 yards per return. As mentioned earlier, if the Eagles can win the field position battle with guys like Johnston and Ford, they could surprise some teams. It’s a major part of the game that often goes unnoticed.
