Philadelphia Eagles lose in Week 10 but here’s the good news
Well, the Philadelphia Eagles lose in Week 10, but there’s a silver lining.
Well, that isn’t how that was supposed to play out. The Philadelphia Eagles had won seven straight games over the New York Giants and 13 out of the last 14 games, but it just wasn’t meant to be in Week 10. Philly committed 11 penalties that resulted in 74 yards of field position for the G-Men (New York committed seven penalties), and they were 0-9 on third down attempts.
That was the worst they’ve been since they went 0-8 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 7th of 2004. Philly drops their fifth game of the 2020 campaign, but thanks to that tie, here’s the silver lining in a somewhat dark cloud. They’re still in first place in the NFC East.
What’s next for the Philadelphia Eagles and Giants?
Who would have thought huh? For most of us, the theory was the Eagles would fare a little better if Carson Wentz took better care of the football and he got some of his weapons back on offense. 11 had no turnovers for the first time all season, but in the end, it wouldn’t matter.
The Giants are off next week as they’ll rest during a late-season bye. The Eagles travel to Cleveland next week to take on the Browns.
Now, that we’ve given you the good news, here’s the other side of the same dingy coin. Hey, we have to give you all of the news both good and bad, right? Forget what the standings say, The New York Giants are the best team in the NFC East right now. They’re the team that’s improving each week. They’re the team that seems to have the momentum (they’re also gaining some confidence each week).
The Giants and Birds end their annual two-game series versus Big Blue with a season split. Thank goodness for that. They were one Evan Engram drop from being 0-2 versus their rivals from New York on the 2020 campaign. We’ll have to see if they look any better versus the Browns in Week 11.
