4 Potential Philadelphia Eagles FA replacements for Zach Ertz in 2021
Don’t let Everett’s performance versus the Philadelphia Eagles fool you.
The last time the Eagles saw Gerald Everett was Week 2 of the 2020 season. If you don’t remember much about his performance in that one, don’t be alarmed. You wouldn’t be alone in that vein of thinking.
Mr. Everett was in for 30 of the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive snaps, which was roughly 43 percent of the team’s total on that day, but he had nary a target or a catch. Don’t take that as a knock on how the team feels about him though if you’re a Birds fan.
On the season, this six-foot-three, 240-pound budding star has appeared in all nine of the Rams’ games with three starts. He’s hauled in 22 receptions on 30 targets, giving him 111 receptions for 1,281 yards and eight trips to the end zone for his career (if you include his four playoff appearances).
Everett isn’t the same caliber of a tight end as Zach Ertz when the latter is healthy. Then again, no one can claim to be so unless their names are Travis Kelce or George Kittle. What Everett can claim to be is a less expensive option that gives Carson Wentz a nice catch radius and a big target in the red zone. There can never be too many of those in any offense.
