Joe Thuney could stabilize the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line.

Does anyone remember New England Patriots fans? Whatever happened to them? Well, that’s another story for another day, but while we’re here, we may as well talk about their roster a little.

A team that used to be a destination for guys who are looking for a possible Super Bowl run before they call it a career has become a team that’s best described by a term that hasn’t been associated with their name in years, mediocrity. As this team gets further from Tom Brady’s era, you can expect that they’ll begin to see guys bolt for other cities (especially if the weather is warmer) and free agents eschew the chance to play for Bill Belichick because they’re more interested in playing for more player-friendly coaches.

To make long stories short, let’s look at this another way. The Patriots mystique is dying and whether it be for reasons like the ones mentioned or because the organization just wants to move on from him, Joe Thuney could be available in free agency come the next offseason.

Thuney is one of those guys that could potentially be in everyone’s top 15 of possible free agents heading into the 2021 offseason. Nate Herbig and Matt Pryor are average. Brandon Brooks and Jack Driscoll have shown that they can be fragile. If Jason Kelce retires, Isaac Seumalo might be asked to play the center position. Thuney makes a lot of sense for this Eagles team.
