3 Keys to a Philadelphia Eagles win versus Cleveland in Week 11
By Hunter Doyle
3. This Philadelphia Eagles defense needs to force a turnover early.
Every week, there’s talk about the lack of turnovers forced by the defense. They have just ten on the season. If there was ever a week where a turnover was desperately needed, it’s definitely Week 11. As previously mentioned, this Browns offense is known for methodically moving the ball down the field. Time of possession and field position will be major factors in this one.
It’s no secret that the offense has been a train wreck. They’ve put the defense in bad spots with the number of turnovers this year. Maybe the defense could help flip the script by forcing a turnover of their own early on. They need to prevent Cleveland from getting in a rhythm. Baker Mayfield does tend to throw interceptions early on in the game. Philly needs to take advantage of any opportunities they get.
The Birds are 28th in both average starting field position and in average starting field position allowed to opponents. Without Rudy Ford on punt coverage, the field position battle could be a bit more difficult. Schwartz’s defense getting an interception or forcing a fumble would put this team in a great spot. The offense would finally get good starting field position and the Browns offense would be off of the field. This is the type of game where the Eagles are going to have to steal possessions. It has to happen early in this one.
