The Philadelphia Eagles are making changes to their offensive line.

Shortly after lunchtime on Friday, November 27th, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported via Twitter that the Philadelphia Eagles would be making some lineup changes along their offensive line, including Jason Peters handing his left tackle position to Jordan Mailata as Peters will take over at right guard.

This is something that Philly fans and Eagles media members have been clamoring for. There was hope that Mailata would earn the right to protect Carson as Peters’ regression so far this season at the tackle position has been a rapid one. Isaac Seumalo’s recent return has fans thinking that this should begin to foster more cohesive chemistry within the unit as the Birds prepare for their Week 12 game.

That’s good news. Here’s the not-so-good news. Unfortunately, another major announcement was made for the Eagles offensive line. During a zoom call with the Eagles media, right tackle Lane Johnson announced that he is out for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. ‘The inside of my ankle has collapsed’ were the somber words of the Eagles star right tackle. This is a big loss for the Birds.

The three-time Pro Bowl nod explained that he heavily injured his ankle in the matchup against the Browns and will need to undergo surgery to repair his deltoid ligaments. Johnson also lamented that he might have returned too early following his first procedure this season. It was obvious that he wasn’t 100-percent healthy, but this is the type of new that has frustrated this fan base for a while.

Bowen also reported that Matt Pryor might be the most likely candidate to start at right tackle versus the Seahawks as rookie Jack Driscoll is dealing with knee issues. 2020 hasn’t been kind to the Iggles as far as injuries are concerned. This is another tough blow as it appeared that the Iggles were finally getting healthy. This is the (enter number here) different offensive line the Philadelphia Eagles have made since the beginning of this season, so it will be interesting to see how Philly adjusts.
