Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Possible NFL Draft replacements for Lane Johnson
Might the Philadelphia Eagles land the best offensive tackle in 2021’s NFL Draft?
Here’s the skinny. No seriously. This has to be mentioned. If the Philadelphia Eagles are in a position to land Penei Sewell of the Oregon Ducks and giving that thought some serious consideration when the next draft rolls around, that means that the wheels completely fell off of the wagon and the 2020 season went into the tank.
That would probably mean that the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t make the playoffs and that they didn’t win any games during the last month of the season. That would probably also mean that, not only is Lane Johnson gone, but also that they have lost faith in Andre Dillard, Jordan Mailata, Prince Tega Wanogho, and possibly Matt Pryor.
Let’s be honest though. If you haven’t learned anything from the Eagles in 2020, it should be this. The offensive line isn’t very deep, and it might be the weakest unit on the entire roster. They can’t afford to not spend a pick or maybe even two on some offensive line help. Sewell has already announced that he’s entering the 2021 NFL Draft, and if he sticks with that decision, he’ll be the best offensive tackle prospect come next April.
