How do you feel about the Philadelphia Eagles’ decision to take Jalen Hurts now?

When Jalen Hurts makes his first professional start for the Philadelphia Eagles on December 13th versus the New Orleans Saints, more than seven months would have passed between the day that Howie Roseman decided to take him 53rd-overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. A little over seven months later, it’s official. Jalen Hurts will indeed replace Carson Wentz in the Eagles’ starting lineup as their starting quarterback on offense.

There’s so much to unpack there, that it isn’t even funny, but let’s all focus on the decision for a moment. Let’s rewind the tape. It was April 24th. It seemed as though it had been a week since the first round of the selection meeting had ended, and here we were in Round 2.

Might Philly take a safety? Jeremy Chinn perhaps? Would they go with a linebacker or a cornerback? Both were areas of need. Heck, after passing over Justin Jefferson for Jalen Reagor, some of you might have made the argument that they needed another wide receiver.

What did they do? They took a quarterback. A quarterback! Here’s the question though. You’ve had time to calm down. You’ve watched more than three-quarters of the 2020 NFL season. How many of you have asked yourselves this? What if Howie Roseman was right and we were wrong?
